چکیده
In the present study, polyamide (PA) was successfully reinforced with cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) prepared from date palm leaves using two different techniques, electrospinning and solution casting method, a comparative study of these systems performed. The morphological, thermal, wetting, mechanical properties nanocomposites were analyzed for CNC content between 0 5 wt%. Morphological analyses showed roughness in fractured surface neat PA its after addition CNC. modified composite is found to have smooth without cracks increased greater hydrophilicity thermal stability. nano-indentation results that highest hardness obtained at 5% loading cast samples, which could be related relatively good dispersion filler matrix bonding as evidenced by morphological characterization. We also observed technique produced better thermo-physical than method. point prospect development nanocomposite films date-palm-leaf-derived incorporated high-performance advanced material applications such membranes.

Mechanical and thermal properties of waterborne epoxy composites containing cellulose nanocrystals
Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are reinforcing fillers of emerging interest for polymers due to their high modulus and potential for sustainable production. In this study, CNC-based composites with a waterborne epoxy resin matrix were prepared and characterized to determine morphology, water content, and thermal and mechanical properties. While some CNC aggregation was observed, the glass transi...

Effects of nutshell fiber loadings of 30 wt.% and MCC loadings up to 15 wt.% on some properties of high-density polyethylene composites (HDPE) were investigated. The composites were manufactured by a single screw extruder and injection molding. The experimental composite samples were tested for their mechanical performance including tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, flexural...
متن کاملFabrication and properties of transparent polymethylmethacrylate/cellulose nanocrystals composites.
Nano-sized cellulose crystals were fabricated from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) using combined sulfuric acid hydrolysis and high-pressure homogenization techniques. The crystals were then utilized to prepare polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) nanocomposites by the solution casting method. The cellulose nanocrystals had diameters from about 8 to 10nm and lengths in the range of 60-120 nm. Wide-an...
متن کاملMechanical, thermal and morphological properties of poly(lactic acid)/epoxidized palm olein blend.
Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is known to be a useful material in substituting the conventional petroleum-based polymer used in packaging, due to its biodegradability and high mechanical strength. Despite the excellent properties of PLA, low flexibility has limited the application of this material. Thus, epoxidized palm olein (EPO) was incorporated into PLA at different loadings (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 wt%...
متن کاملMechanical Properties of the Palm Fibers Reinforced HDPE Composites
Natural fibers are used in polymer composites to improve mechanical properties to replace inorganic reinforcing agents produced by non-renewable resources. The present study investigates the tensile and flexural behaviors of palm fibers-high density polyethylene (HDPE) composite as a function of volume fraction. The surface of the fibers was treated by mercerization treatments to improve the we...
